In place of the sculpture will build a shopping center.
In the river demolished the culture of the famous Ukrainian Soviet sculptor Ernest Kotkov “Dnipro wave”.
As reported on the Facebook page of Ukrainian Modernism, on the site of the sculpture will be the premises of the new Mall.
It is also reported that the demolition of the “Dnieper wave” was not preceded by any announcement, no information booth or the installation of a fence.
The sculpture was installed in 1985. Ernest Kotkov is a co – author of the frescoes of the Kiev river station, Boryspil airport and metro station “Lybidskaya” in Kiev.
“Dnipro wave” is an abstract work made of armobeton, marble and colored glazes.

Ernest Kotkov – known Ukrainian Soviet artist was engaged in monumental art since 1961. Was a close friend of Sergei Parajanov. In collaboration with Valery Llamas created mosaics on residential houses on the Avenue of victory, 21 in Kiev.
