In Israel, support the decision of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry to appeal the court’s decision.

Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel in Ukraine, Joel Lyon was surprised by the decision of the Sixth administrative court of appeal on reinstatement of the dismissed over anti-Semitic social media posts of Consul of Ukraine in Hamburg Basil Marusina.

This is stated in the message of Embassy of Israel in Ukraine in the social network Facebook.

“The state of Israel surprised by the decision of the Sixth administrative court of appeal on reinstatement of the anti-Semitic Ukrainian diplomat Vasily Marusina. However, we support the decision of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine to appeal this decision,” said Lyon.

The Ambassador expressed the hope that “the Supreme court of Ukraine will see the true face of this dangerous individual.”

The diplomat stressed that it strongly condemns all anti-Semitic actions, statements and Holocaust denial, especially public figures.

“I once again urge Ukrainian officials to create a tool to better fight anti-Semitism and adopt a definition of the International Alliance of Holocaust remembrance (IHRA) on anti-Semitism,” added Lyon.
