The leader of “European Solidarity” stressed the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia until full compliance with the obligations under the Minsk agreements and complete restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea.
Petro Poroshenko also noted the need for the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass.
While Russia will not change its behavior, any talk of returning to “business as usual” with Moscow are premature and threatening, said fifth President of Ukraine.
The parties discussed Ukraine’s progress towards European integration.
Emphasized the need for an inclusive approach in the development process of Ukrainian legislation that ensures proper participation of the opposition, civil society and international partners.
During the meeting, concerns were expressed over alarming trends that indicate the intention to instrumentalisierung justice in Ukraine against political opponents and to restrict freedom of speech under the pretext of countering misinformation.
