Italy also takes part in Berlin conference on Libya
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Italy Luigi Di Maio on the sidelines of the Berlin conference called to introduce stricter sanctions against those who contribute to the continuation of the war in Libya. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to the newspaper Messaggero.
According to the head of the Italian foreign Minister, it is necessary to create a mechanism of sanctions against the so-called “sponsors” of the military conflict in Libya. In particular, Di Maio proposed to ensure full compliance with the sanctions provided for violation of the UN embargo.
“We need to work on the mechanism of sanctions against those who continue to fuel a war in Libya. At the moment the sanctions (for violations – ed.) UN embargo (on supplies of weapons – ed.) but we need to ensure their full implementation, beginning with strict control. It is also essential to exclude all external influence on the development of the situation, ” he said.
