Volkswagen company intends to produce in Russia 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine. This will be done through a Special investment contract (SPIC), which will give access to benefits and public procurement – an application for the conclusion of the contract, the German brand has already filed.
The 1.4-litre TSI petrol is planned to be released at the company Volkswagen in Kaluga, where it already produce the 1.6-liter “aspirated”. Thus the production capacity of the Kaluga plant will increase from 150 to 300 thousand engines per year. The plant in the future plan to make it a global center for the production of 1.6-litre motors, which will put units around the world.
In addition, the Volkswagen group, in the framework of the application for Speke, intends in the next 5 years to invest 40 billion rubles in the modernization of the plant in Kaluga, as well as the localization of new models of the group, for example Skoda Karoq.
