Kerch historical and archeological Museum invites to visit the exhibition “Nevyansk icon”. This is reported by the organizers.
Visitors will be able to fully immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of the world of icon painting, to feel how laborious this job is, and enjoy the unique work of the old believers in the XVIII-XIX centuries, as well as our contemporaries.
The Museum presents traditional images of the mother of God, Jesus Christ, Nicholas and etc. some great icons Nev letters. This is the “Christ Pantocrator on the Throne to cling Macarius Zheltovodsky and Sergius of Radonezh, “the blessed virgin” and others.
At the exhibition it is possible to see the traditional clothes of old believers – among whom appeared the phenomenon of Nevyansk icon, the first products of the Ural factories, to get acquainted with traditional crafts of the Urals, but the important thing is to make a journey into the mysterious world of Russian icons and discover something new.
The exhibition “Nevyansk icon” will be on display until November 2019.
Kerch historical and archeological Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 to 17:45, Tuesday 11:00 to 19:45, Monday off.
REFERENCE: Nevyansk icon painting is a unique phenomenon of Russian culture that are widespread and beyond the territory of the Urals. Today, in a secular Nevyansk icon painting workshop of the Foundation “Revival of Nevyansk icon painting and folk arts and crafts” involved in iconography by the canons of the ancient Nevyansk school and the restoration of the Holy images. For ten years the workshop has managed not only to revive traditional Nevyansk icon, but also to create new, imbibed all the traditions of hand-written icon, jewelry art and three-dimensional casting.
