Expert in economic integration Alexander Koltunovich said what actually was the trade relations between Russia and Ukraine to 2018 and that really hurts trade and economic relations between the two countries. He stressed that without Russia, Ukraine is losing in economic terms and will continue to lose if they continue to “follow the path that she chose in 2014.”
According to the Koltunovich, in 2018 Russia is in first place for export and import is the main trade and economic partner. He also said that “60% of the coal falls on Russia, followed by USA, Canada and other countries.”
“There are Slovakia, Hungary and Poland – countries that allegedly enable the import of gas to Ukraine. Politically it sounds like Russia doesn’t export to Ukraine, but this is not true. These countries do not produce gas. In their territory are the so-called gas operators who sell us reverse Russian gas”, – explained the expert.
In addition, Koltunovich said that Russia – the main partner of Ukraine in the import of oil – according to him, “every year we give the Russians 2 billion dollars.” Also Russia remains the main investor in the Ukrainian economy in the first nine months of 2018.
The expert also spoke about the dynamics of bilateral trade turnover between Ukraine and Russia.
“In 2013, exported goods 15 billion in 2018, 3.6 billion In 2011 exports amounted to 19.8 billion dollars. Ukraine in the year 2018 has lost about $ 16 billion… And we did not cover the loss of the Russian market and CIS markets due to the European”, – he informed.
