Recently control officers and commanders of the 17th Separate tank brigade, Kryvyi Rih named after Konstantin Pestushko returned from studies which took place in the capital. Almost a month officers have improved their skills, honed practical skills in military management and familiar with the latest technological developments.

“A three-week course was very intensive: regular lectures, seminars, exercises, self-testing, tablets, card time lacked. Sometimes I had to sleep two to three hours a day. But it’s worth it, it was very interesting – enthusiastically says one of the officers control. – Thought theory, I over the years have studied thoroughly, and have nothing surprised, however, these exercises are a pleasant surprise even for me. All progress in technology is even in training”.
In addition to conventional paper cards, the students filled out and digital – each allotted area of responsibility, which are superimposed on each other in an interactive mode, in the end allowed the commander to see the balance of power and resources and assess operational situation online.
“To overestimate the importance of such skills is difficult, because thanks to them the process of awareness, assessment of the situation and decision making is accelerated significantly. Moreover, modern digital devices allow you to not only plan, but also to effectively manage the fighting, help to foresee the consequences of decisions, save time, power, funds”, – stated in the message.
Clarifies that verification of learning took place in the most effective and simplest way – fight. Battles with tank battles, artillery duels and infantry battles unfolded on the monitors of computers.
In the last week of training the cadets had the opportunity to test and hone your knowledge and skills using software simulation JCATS. “This is a relatively new technique, which began its work in the APU 2017, however, our officers are already mastered and are confident enough to use (yet, unfortunately, just for the exercise). This software allows to simulate the situation on the battlefield in real time and allows commanders and staffs to make decisions instantly based on situation. The program itself is multi-layered, it uses different units and forces: allied, hostile, neutral, different samples of military equipment, weapons, equipment and the like. With these capabilities, you can recreate the atmosphere of a real operational situation”, – explained in a press release.
It is also reported that the results of a joint staff exercises of the officers of our brigade showed a high level of professional knowledge and won a landslide victory in a tactical game.
