The Minister said that one of his priorities will be filling vacancies in the diplomatic service.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that he intends to involve the foreign service and ambassadors of new people with fresh ideas.
The official told the TV channel “inter” on Friday evening.
He said that over two days at the head of the foreign Ministry, he devoted much attention to the issue of filling vacancies not only ambassadors and senior diplomats in various embassies.
“It can not be physically effective diplomacy if you have no Ambassador, and even more so many years there is no Ambassador, or the Ambassador is not an effective team. So, of course, the filling of vacancies will be a priority,” – said Kuleba.
He also said that it is necessary to attract the foreign service professional and ready to perform work of a diplomat at the highest level (at the level of Ambassador).
“That is, to take fresh people with fresh views,” – said Kuleba.
The Minister added that an Ambassador of Ukraine abroad is probably the greatest honor that can fall to man.
Kuleba said that the ambassadors have a decent and competitive market salary.
“We will attract such people,” he added.
Recall that in may 2018 the then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko vetoed on the approved by the Verkhovna Rada law “On diplomatic service” (registration No. 7322).
