President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has compared with sanctions some of Russia’s actions in closing its market for a number of Belarusian goods. Lukashenko at the meeting with the economic block of the government instructed the Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus to investigate the situation and report back to him about the results next week.
“You are under sanctions and condemn it, and I absolutely support them, but at the same time, such arms are fighting against their closest allies – said Alexander Lukashenko. – We need to take action. Well, we all the time: we get hit in the left cheek we turn the right”.
The discontent of the Belarusian head of state was the fact that the Rosselkhoznadzor closes the access of Belarusian enterprises to the Russian market.
“Whether they have a suspicion there that we supply is not there, every day there is a closure of our businesses. We close the market” – said Lukashenko.
On April 12, 2019, the Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced temporary restrictions on supplies to Russia of apples and pears from Belarus. The reason was that in Russia from this country supposedly gets the fruits and vegetables with unknown phytosanitary status and falsified certificates.
