President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko agreed to come to Zhitomir, at the invitation of President Vladimir Zelensky.
In an interview with BelTA said Belarus Ambassador Igor Sokol.
“We have received a number of positive signals from the elected President of Ukraine. As you know, Vladimir Zelensky invited Alexander Lukashenko at the Forum of regions in Zhytomyr. Our President confirmed his participation,” said Sokol.
Commenting on economic relations between Belarus and Ukraine, the Ambassador described them as positive, adding that the country is moving in the right direction, but “not as fast as we would like”.
Falcon also stated that the credibility of the Minsk platform for the negotiations on settlement of the situation in the East of Ukraine is very high, as evidenced by the recent appeal Zelensky with a proposal to hold regular talks on the situation in Ukraine in Minsk.
The forum of Regions in Zhytomyr will be held this fall.
