The return to the format of “Big eight” and the normalization of relations between Russia and the EU depends on the settlement of the situation in the East of Ukraine. June 8, 2018, before flying to the G7 summit in Canada, President of the United States Donald trump said that Russia should be represented at the meeting “Big seven”. The Prime Minister of Italy, Giuseppe Conte supported the initiative of the trump. In Canada, it was stated that the return of Russia until Crimea is annexed. Against the return of the Russian Federation spoke also the President of the European Council Donald Tusk.

The G20 members are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, UK, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Canada, China, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, USA, Turkey, France, South Korea, South Africa, Japan and the European Union.

In 2014, after the annexation of Crimea Russia started armed aggression on Donbass.February 12, 2015 in Minsk the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France during 17-hour talks agreed on two documents on the conflict settlement in the Donbas: a Declaration on the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the Complex of measures to implement the Minsk agreements. They included the cessation of hostilities in the Donbass, the withdrawal of illegal armed groups from the region, creation of conditions for holding elections in local authorities, etc. Until the Minsk agreements are not fulfilled.
