Medvedev said the election campaign in Ukraine “hard and dirty”

Медведев назвал избирательную кампанию в Украине "жесткой и грязной"

In Russia, I doubt, will do the presidential elections without fraud or whether the success of one of the candidates is honest and legitimate. About this Bulgarian newspaper “Trud”, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The interview was published on March 3, the translation posted on the website of the Russian government.

“Ukraine is a tough, dirty campaign for the presidential election. Watching her, we in Russia do not yet understand who in Ukraine can talk to. But in any case we will respect the choice of our neighbors, the choice of Ukrainians”, – said Medvedev.

In his opinion, the campaign is held with gross violations of accepted in Europe of democratic norms.

One of the “obvious infringements of electoral rights of Ukrainian citizens”, according to Medvedev, was the closure of polling stations in diplomatic and consular institutions of Ukraine on the territory of Russia. “About 3 million citizens of Ukraine who live and work in Russia, lost the opportunity to vote,” said the Prime Minister.

Secondly, he said, Russian citizens are forbidden to participate in election observation, even in the composition of the monitoring mission of the OSCE. “This is a serious violation of Ukraine’s own international commitments. This rarely occurs in practice. It is obvious that the regime has something to hide,” – said Medvedev.

The election of the President of Ukraine is scheduled for March 31.
