Mercedes-Benz has released a new modification of the crossover GLE 580 4Matic, equipped with a 4.0-liter turbocharged engine V8 and a 48-volt hybrid electrical system.
The V8 engines of Mercedes-Benz perfect in every way, except for CO2 emissions. In light of recent events, to limit harmful emissions, the automaker found the perfect solution to not to abandon the beloved “eight”, thus comply with stringent standards and make the car more economical. Mercedes has added to it a mild hybrid system, according to the Auto Informant with reference to Cnet.
That’s what the company did with its new crossover GLE 580 4Matic. Mercedes took a 4.0-liter V8 engine with turbo and added an electric motor on 48 volts. Return to the main V8 makes 490 HP and 700 Nm of torque, and the generator adds to it 21 BHP and 250 Nm of torque.
GLE580 also possesses the advantages of other technologies not related to the engine. In particular 4Matic has an excellent infotainment system Mercedes MBUX, which is able to recognize the gestures of the passengers to control certain functions of the car. Also, the GLE is equipped with two 12.3-inch screens and air suspension. Interior crossover lined with leather and has the look of AMG. GLE580 4Matic will go on sale later this year at a base value of 76 800$.
