Microsoft ended support for Windows 7: free upgrade to Windows 10

Despite the fact that the possibility of a free upgrade to Windows 10 was to be completed in 2016, still have way to go to “ten” for free.

ITHome writes, referring to a former employee of Microsoft, users of Windows 7, as before, can be updated to Windows 10 without paying for the transition. And you do not need something to “break” or perform strange actions, all done with standard tools Microsoft.

As a free upgrade to Windows 10

First of all you need to have installed the official (activated) Windows 7. And then it’s pretty simple:

  • Need to download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool, launch the app and agree to the license terms of Microsoft.
  • Next, select the menu item “Refresh this PC” (not to use a clean install) and actually click the Install button.

In the process the computer will restart multiple times – as in a typical installation. After that, the user will have at their disposal the official version of Windows 10.

Important! It should be noted in the Media Creation Tool item “Keep Files” – otherwise, all the user’s files during the upgrade process will be deleted.

What is known about Windows 10?
Is the operating system that Microsoft introduced in 2015. During the first year after the system users can free upgrade to Windows 10 on any device running official versions of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.

Despite the fact that Microsoft for a long time strongly suggests users to upgrade to Windows 10, “seven” is still very popular.
