May 2-3, 2019 in Stockholm (Sweden) held international conference on “Public diplomacy in times of conflict: Scandinavian, Baltic and Eastern European perspectives” (“Public Diplomacy in Conflict: Nordic, Baltic and East European Perspectives”), dedicated to the discussion of the problems of the positioning of the countries during political conflicts and the consideration of the scenario of economic development in terms of military aggression.
Participation in the event was attended by state Secretary of the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine Artem Bidenko, who gave the participants a single brand of Ukraine is NOW Ukraine during the first panel of the conference “Branding in times of conflict” and talked about the communication challenges facing Ukraine.
“Ukraine was facing a difficult challenge – in the framework of public diplomacy to communicate the situation of war with Russia, a strong army, which protects Europe against the aggressor. At the same time – demonstrate safe country, where reform where human rights are the Supreme value. Today the government successfully implements these communication platforms by promoting reform in Ukraine”, – noted in his report, the Secretary of state.
As part of this panel, the panelists discussed how the social, ethnic and military conflicts influence the practice of branding, communications and public diplomacy, and analyzed the place of the branding and image of the state in inter-state conflict?? the practice of using media in these conflicts.
The conference was organized by the University Sodertorn together with the Swedish Institute, with the support of the Centre for Baltic and East European studies (CBEES), NordForsk and ReNEW.
We will remind, on 10 may 2018, the Government approved brand of Ukraine NOW, developed by Ukrainian Agency Banda in the framework of the Commission for popularization of Ukraine under the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine.
