Frank de winn: “the First step was the cooperation with our partners from NASA. We are talking about a space ship “Orion” and the module our center that will be attached to it. From there we will be able to fly to the moon. We are working with colleagues from Russia on the creation of landers that will look for water on the moon. If we want to stay here for a long time, we will need to explore the resources of the satellite, to look for oxygen and hydrogen and to develop the capability to refuel rockets”.

Euronews: “can you Explain what are you doing now?”

Frank de winn: “We at the European astronaut centre are now working on the creation of the concept “Lunar village” – a kind of a base on the moon. How are we going to build? We can’t move buildings from the Ground. We need new resources. Can we use the regolith – the sand, which was discovered on the moon? How to interact with people and robots? How do we create a life support system? How will we grow food on the moon? Here are the questions to which the specialists of our center want to find answers.”
