Bosch has introduced a new safety system for motorcyclists – Help Connect.
Help Connect the system automatically alerts emergency services about road accident with participation of the rider via smartphone. According to the Bosch experts, in some cases, the automatic emergency call can reduce response time to crash twice and thus increase the chance of survival.
Digital “angel” uses the information of the stability control system of Bosch MSC motorcycle, in particular, the built-in inertial sensor. Is the sensor a hundred times a second measures the acceleration and angular speed by determining how fast to change the slope of the motorcycle over time. Built-in collision algorithm allows to determine precisely dropped the bike parked or in motion. During its development the Bosch used real data on road accident with participation of motorcyclists. Then the effectiveness of the system tested in the 18 crash tests with various accident scenarios.
Help Connect connects to the emergency application Bosch Vivatar Bluetooth, but can be integrated into other branded app motorcycle manufacturers. In addition to location information, the system transmits any health information provided by the driver, a Bosch service center. If the driver fails to respond to a call from the service center, to the place of accident sent medical and rescue workers.
The original system is Help Connect will be available for customers from Germany. Users will be able to communicate with the service center of Bosch in German or English language from any European country.
