“Naftogaz of Ukraine” is preparing additional lawsuits against the Russian “Gazprom” at 17.3 billion dollars.
This was written by the Executive Director of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Yuriy Vitrenko on his page in Facebook.
“… my team are clearly formulated and presented for approval to the Supervisory Board of “Naftogaz” extra “questions” to “Gazprom” for the sum of 17.3 billion dollars. In the case of harmonization – ahead is also a lot of work,” wrote Vitrenko.
Naftogaz is looking for a replacement to the Executive Director of the company Yuriy Vitrenko. According to EP, changes in top management of “Naftogaz” associated with joining the company Otto Waterlander.
Vitrenko himself denies.
In February 2018, the Stockholm arbitration has obliged “Gazprom” to pay “Naftogaz” penalty 4.63 billion dollars due to underutilization of Ukrainian pipes.
Taking into account the earlier decision on the contract for the supply of “Gazprom” to pay to the Ukrainian side of 2.56 billion dollars.
In December 2019, “Gazprom” has paid this amount and interest.
17 Oct 2016 “Naftogaz of Ukraine” and six of its subsidiaries has initiated arbitration proceedings against the Russian Federation with the requirement to pay damages.
According to the NAC, we are talking about the property of “Naftogaz”, “Chernomorneftegaz” and “Ukrtransgaz” and “Ukrgazdobycha”, “Ukrtransnafta”, “Gas of Ukraine” and “of likvo”.
In August 2017 the international court of arbitration in the Hague began its consideration of arbitration of the statement of “Naftogaz” to Russia about compensation for the assets lost due to the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula in 2014.
The oral hearing on jurisdiction and liability was held at the peace Palace in the Hague in may 2018.
In March 2019, “Naftogaz” received a positive conclusion of arbitration in the Hague on the claim against Russia. The court found its jurisdiction in the case of lost assets.
