Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser of its flagship sedan, which announced his debut.
Formally a novelty, but rather, the technology that will be used, will show on July 8, but the presentation of the new generation S-Class will be held in senare.
Now, the teaser shows only the front of the new S and the first official photo planetphotosho infotainment system MBUX.
The novelty will receive a more simplified front panel, which will dominate the big screen. It is through him that the owner will be able to control most functions of the car, just like in the Tesla electric cars. The display size is currently unknown, although it is possible to tell with confidence that it will receive a diagonal of approximately 17 inches, similar to the Tesla Model S and Model X.
Needless to say, the instrument cluster will also be fully digital. Most likely, the HUD display will support augmented reality for navigation system.
As for propulsion, we know about the appearance of the V12, but only in the Maybach, as the company has no plans to release a version of the S65 AMG. While a weaker six – and eight-cylinder engines will get a mild hybrid technology. As in the case of the W222, some countries will be offered four-cylinder power units.
It was recently confirmed that the model will be available with multiple wheel bases: standard, long and extra long. Also, the model will boast of steering of the rear axle and the Autonomous system 3-level, but later appear and the autopilot of the 4th level.
The next generation’s will work on a completely new platform, which is in development in 2015 and will be used a large number of models for cost allocation.
