“The recovery will take six weeks. He will meet with another specialist next week, so I’m going to discuss with Top Rank, will we be able to move the fight,” said promoter Ghanaian boxer Lou DiBella.
Promotion company Ukrainian Top Rank doesn’t want to move the date of the fight and already looking for Basil for a new opponent.
A possible option for Lomachenko next fight would become the mandatory Challenger for the WBA line Anthony Kroll (34-6-3, 13 KO’s), however, even in case of successful completion of a purse-bid, the Briton will not be the opponent for Lomachenko in the next fight, and their meeting will take place no earlier than summer of this year.
Informed Sport 24 reported that the WBA allowed Lomachenko to hold a unification bout against IBF belt holder Richard Comm.
