During Nordic walking employs about 90% of the human muscles, in addition, the body produces a hormone which improves a person’s mood, normalizes the work of cardiovascular system, reduces pressure, activates the brain and such. This sport is prescribed as rehabilitation after stroke and traumatic brain injury. Furthermore, it acts as a method of injury prevention, because lessons train balance and produce resistance position of the human body and improves coordination,” – said the specialist of physical rehabilitation of the territorial center of social servicing (social services) DGS Tatyana Melnichenko.
She also added that for Nordic walking you need to have a light sport wear, comfortable shoes and a special stick.
