Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsova, who was convicted in Russia for the preparation of the attack, moved to Moscow in preparation for the exchange. His time he served in prison on the Yamal Peninsula.
Sentsov left the colony the day before, August 28. Initially, the media reported that he was taken to Butyrskaya prison, but later Telegram-channel Baza said the transfer of Lefortovo. Presumably, Sentsova is prepared to exchange for the editor of “RIA Novosti Ukraine” Kirill Vyshinsky, accused of treason.
On the eve of the Kiev court of appeal dismissed the Wyszynski to freedom under the personal obligation. A case of high treason against him are not closed. A few days before this, it was argued that the journalist refused listing on the exchange and intends to prove his innocence. The sources said that his release was a condition for Moscow to prepare a meeting within the Normandy format.
The North Caucasus district military court in August of 2015 were convicted of Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko terrorism, organization of terrorist community and illegal arms trafficking. The defendants received 20 and 10 years of imprisonment. The investigation failed to gather evidence that Ukrainians were planning large-scale terrorist acts on the territory of Russia with a large number of casualties.
