Shortly after the presentation OnePlus 8 Pro first buyers have discovered an original way of shooting on camera phones using a special mode. With it, the device was able to literally see through objects. But after some time with the activation of “x-ray” began to cause problems, and later the company actually “cut” an exclusive feature, completely changing the algorithm of its work.
The situation with photochromic camera is ambiguous: at first it was the main feature of the flagship, and then the company decided to disable it by using the distribution of the next firmware updates, recalls androidauthority. According to representatives of the company, things are not so simple: the filter OxygenOS no disabled.
As it is now working x-ray camera
The inability to activate “x-mode” after the update is associated not with the desire of companies to limit the functionality of a smartphone, and an algorithm change shooting. The journalists AndroidAuthority did some tests and came to the conclusion that the photochromic filter now only works with a good level of lighting. A corresponding message is displayed on the display device each time the sensor receives less than required amount of light.
The camera reports about the lack of light
As it turned out, the filter itself for photos in OxygenOS 10.5.10 indeed preserved, but the activation mode requires a certain environment, and “x-ray” feature, which seems to have been a surprise to the developers themselves, all disappeared.
