The Deputy head of the Ukrainian MIL quoted “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll.
Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya at a meeting of the UN Security Council compared the Deputy permanent representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky with Humpty-Dumpty, reports UKRINFORM.
Polanski in his speech at speczadanie of the UN Security Council, the fifth anniversary of the occupation of the Crimea said that the evidence of torture and violations of human rights and humanitarian law in the occupied Peninsula is a “fairytale” in the spirit of “Alice in Wonderland”.
The representative of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry retorted: “Specially for the Russian gentleman who is so in awe of Lewis Carroll, have another quote: “I don’t want to be among mad men,” said Alice. “This will not help,” said the cat.” This is my feeling, when you listen.”
Sorrel added: “it seems to Me that your favorite character is not Alice and Humpty Dumpty, who said: “When I say the word, we are talking about is what I mean to him.” So in your words it was not told about the true meaning of the UN Charter, Budapest Memorandum, or international law.”
The Ukrainian diplomat reminded the Russian representative and other words of the English writer: “Always tell the truth. Think before you speak and saying – make a note of what I said.”
“This is very good advice for you next time you decide to quote Lewis Carroll,” said Sorrel.
He reminded the audience that in Ukraine there is no internal conflict, only the direct aggression of Russia.
