The head of the Bank Suma Chakrabarti noted that “pandemic COVID-19 and its economic implications represent an unprecedented challenge for the EBRD and the countries where it conducts operations”. According to Chakrabarti, the approved financing package is only a first step. If necessary, the Bank is ready to continue to strengthen measures and to expand the Arsenal of financing tools, he added.
The EBRD operates in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and southern and Eastern Mediterranean.
