In the next four years the company will invest in the electrification of the model range of 10 billion euros.
Porsche held an annual press-conference on which has summed up the results of 2019 and said the plans for the near future. Largely it is connected with the expansion of electrically powered cars – plug-in-hybrid and all-electric.
A priority for the brand right now is the launch of the cross-universal Cross Taycan Turismo, whose premiere is scheduled for the end of the year. In terms of design, the production model will follow in the footsteps of the concept of Mission E Cross Turismo, which debuted last spring in Geneva, and all technical stuffing it will borrow the sedan Taycan. The growth of the family “of Tikonov” will not stop: we have already seen on the tests another model, which, presumably, will be named Taycan Sport Turismo.
In 2022 the market will electrocreaser the Porsche Macan. He will get a new architecture, PPE (Premium Electric Platform), which is being developed jointly with Audi, and will be available with both rear and all-wheel drive. To organize the production of “Electromachina”, the company will invest in the modernization of the plant in Leipzig, more than 600 million euros (51.6 billion rubles). As previously reported, some time electric and fuel crossover, which in 2021 will have to change the generation will be sold in parallel.
In total, over the next four years, Porsche is investing in the electrification of its lineup about 10 billion euros. The automaker expects that by the middle of next decade, half of its global sales will come from electric cars and hybrids capable of charging from the network.
In 2019 the production of Porsche rose by 3% to 274 463 cars. The volume of sales has increased by 10% to 280 800 cars. The company also created 2 919 new jobs, and now employing over 34 010 employees.
