Ukraine has lost some of the limitations on flight range missiles and now intends to develop high-precision missiles.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said on March 9 in a speech at the regional development Council in the Cherkassk area.
“We are no longer bound by any restrictions neither on the basis of range of our missiles, either for their power – even if the enemy knows this, too. We need high-precision missile weapons and repeat the mistakes of the Budapest Memorandum we do not intend”, – said Poroshenko.
He added that high-precision missiles extended range capable of hitting targets far behind enemy lines, which occupied the Ukrainian state.
“This will make the aggressor more restrained, but our defense is more reliable”, – said Poroshenko.
He reminded that Russia has suspended participation in the Treaty on intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty), and the US came out of it.
“We also lost certain restrictions and obligations, which are adhered to before,” he added.
