Procter&Gamble intends to introduce for its most popular products reusable packaging. A new initiative aimed at dealing with global production otpustili waste, the company said in its press release.

The company will work together to develop an Internet platform Loop (“vicious circle” – eng.), designed for online trading.

All products on the platform Loop will be sold in specially designed packaging that can be cleaned and re-fill.

This will allow customers to send the packaging for recycling. It will be manufactured from various metal alloys, glass or specially designed types of plastic, said CEO TerraCycle Tom Zaki.

According to him, the company relied on the old model of delivering milk to consumers in Western countries: the milkman brought the produce to the house and left on the porch, taking the empty bottles for the next batch.

Platform Loop will start work in Paris (in partnership with Carrefour), and new York in the first half of 2019, and 2020 will be in other countries. In the future, the system Loop will be available via the websites of retailers-partners. Now the program involves about 25 companies, but that number will increase, says Tom Zaki.
