The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed a law that recognizes the Ukrainians and Belarusians with the Russian language.

Therefore, the citizens of Ukraine and Belarus, which are fluent, are exempted from passing the special examination on the knowledge of the language, which is needed for obtaining Russian citizenship.
The procedure for filing Ukrainians and Belarusians applications for recognition of native Russian speakers will determine the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia. It also is empowered by agreement with the Ministry of education, to identify a single criterion for the recognition of foreigners by native Russian speakers.
The bill already has passed the two houses of the Russian Parliament. The state Duma adopted it on March 5 and March 11 – supported by the Federation Council.
Let’s remind that now foreign citizens and persons without citizenship can be recognized as native Russian language according to the interview results, which is held by the relevant Committee. This status gives the right to obtain citizenship under a simplified procedure.
