The former head of the European Council Donald Tusk said that the aim of Russian President Vladimir Putin is the disintegration of the European Union and NATO. This was reported by Polish radio.
According to Tusk, Putin has allies in the question of the disintegration of Europe among the Polish party “law and justice”, which is represented in the Polish Senate, 37% of deputies and the European Parliament of 28%.
“He (Vladimir Putin – ed.) for the disintegration of the European Union and NATO. He has allies and helpers in this project: conscious, unconscious and the so-called “useful idiots”. All three categories can be found in the party “law and justice” – said Tusk.
However, he noted that at the moment the situation is more serious than it was previously.
“Change in Kiev, close reintegration of Moscow and Minsk and the policy of the President of trump are sufficient reasons to do whatever it takes to try to repair basic domestic consensus in international politics and to restore the status of Poland as a regional leader of European integration,” – said Tusk.
