The City of Sherbrooke must postpone another collection of recyclable materials. The collection scheduled for Monday, June 18 is exceptionally postponed to Friday, June 22.
R call that the collections of recyclable materials scheduled for Monday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 12 have also been reported respectively to Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16.
Citizens affected by these changes to the schedule must deposit their recyclable bins at the curb before 8 am, the new day of the collection.
Unless otherwise stated, recyclable collections scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be held according to the regular schedule.
It should be remembered that these temporary changes to the schedule are attributable to a reorganization of the activities of the Sort Estrie sorting center, which is responsible for sorting and repackaging recyclables.
In order to unclog the sorting center, recyclable materials will be sent to Valoris for bales and transported to a building for storage by Récup Estrie. These recyclable materials will then be sorted and valorized as soon as possible.
In a press release, the City says it is hopeful that it will be able to return quickly to the regular schedule.
