The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov spoke about the U.S. proposal to hold a second referendum in the annexed Crimea, triggering outrage in the network.
In an interview with RBC he said that in April 2014, U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry has acknowledged that in the referendum in the Crimea “it all happened as he wanted Crimean people”, but it is necessary to conduct another vote, in accordance with international law.
“Remember the sanctions that are attributable to the Crimea, forgetting that Crimeans voted freely,” – said Lavrov.
“In April 2014 I talked about this U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry: “Everything is clear. It all happened as he wanted Crimean people. But the order guide another referendum”. Russia rejected the proposal. “Why should I? If you understand, why once again drive people to some kind of vote? I hope John will bear with me. He also published in his memoirs some of the secrets of our conversations,” the Minister explained.
Netizens do not believe Lavrov’s statement and demanded proof.
“Where is the evidence that he said that?”, “Serge began to pour diplomatic negotiations. Serezha is now the diplomatic corpse”, “we Need to bring everything to its original state. To return to Ukraine all the authorities, withdraw its troops, to demolish the Crimean bridge, and with a clean slate again to interview the citizens of Ukraine, its desire to become Russians,” “I for purity of experiment”, “keyword “drive” on referendum”, “Read the international laws, is flawed,” – commented on them.
