Ukrainian tennis player Sergiy Stakhovsky reached the final qualifying of the Open championship of France Roland Garros-2019.
In the semi-final qualifying round Ukrainian in two sets defeated the representative of Belarus Vladimir Ignatik 7:6, 6:4.
In the first set on court there was a fierce struggle. The first in the seventh game of the break was made by the Belarusian. However, in the next game Stakhovsky did a back break. After this Sergey took the lead 5:4 and even had two set balls for the opponent’s serve, but failed to implement them.
Subsequently, the players twice traded breaks and the fate of the party was decided on the tie-break, where the stronger was Ukrainian.
At the start of the second set, Stakhovsky took some time to take a break, which was decisive. The Ukrainian successfully defended all his submission and won the fight.
In the final qualification Sergei will play against the representative of Russia Alexey Vatutin. Before that, the players met only once in 2017. At the US Open, Stakhovsky won the quarter-final qualification.
