The Khrunichev centre, which is part of the “Roskosmos”, resumes the manufacture of light conversion rocket “Rokot” without participation of Ukraine.
As reported by RIA Novosti source in the Russian rocket and space industry, the defense Ministry and the Khrunichev Center signed a contract.
“After consultation with the Department of defense new missile was called the “Rumble-M”, – he said.
The total cost of works on creation of rockets is 3.4 billion rubles.
Booster light class “Rokot” is designed to launch spacecraft into low earth orbit. Its first demonstration launch took place on 16 may 2000.
The Fund’s “Roar” has spent 35 of missile launches, on orbit brought 75 spacecraft for various purposes, including three launches from Baikonur. The programme concluded with the launch on 27 December 2019. Then this rocket delivered into orbit communication satellites “Gonets-M”.
In addition to the Roskosmos and the defense Ministry, “Roar” exploited Eurockot Launch Services GmbH, which is based in the German Bremen.
