During the International forum on agricultural robotics (FIRA) in the French city of PUTEAUX in December, the Swiss company Ecorobotix presented the second version of the work of the Avo.
It is designed for weeding of weeds on field crops and covered with a solar panel that provides energy.
“In our first version of the robot had two hands under the body to the weeding, but it was too slow,” – said representatives of Ecorobotix.
The new version is equipped with two nozzles, which spray small doses of herbicides directly to the weeds.
The vehicle can travel at speeds up to 1 m / sec to process 10 hectares per day, including night mode.
Manufacturers claim that the robot is able to save 90% of the herbicides.
