A copy of one of the most iconic video games in history, Super Mario Bros., was sold for 114 thousand dollars at auction in the United States. The auction, which sold a different game 80-ies and 90-ies, have generated a total of 700 thousand dollars.
The auction was held on Friday, the most attention was attracted to the sealed copy of the game Super Mario Bros., reports Neowin.
The game was released in 1985 for the Nintendo NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). The project, created under the direction of renowned game designer Miyamoto Singer, has sold over 330 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling video game in history.

Another game that was sold for 50 $ 400, was Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out, which was released in 1987. In total, the auction is expected to collect about 500 thousand dollars, but the bidding was very active, therefore the final amount was much more.
The collector who bought a sealed copy of Super Mario Bros., wished to remain anonymous.
