The North Atlantic Council, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to take place soon in Ukraine. About it reports a press-service of the Ukrainian President.
In particular, the report says that today the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in the framework of the Munich security conference in Germany.
During this meeting, they discussed ways of strengthening of cooperation of Ukraine with NATO, especially in the context of strengthening the combat potential of the Ukrainian naval forces.
“In this context noted the importance of the forthcoming visit to Ukraine by the North Atlantic Council of NATO, which must also demonstrate continued support for NATO of Ukraine in countering aggression of Russia”, – underlined in the message.
Stoltenberg mentioned that during his recent meeting with the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, he called on Russia to release Ukrainian prisoners sailors.
Earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held meetings with the chief negotiator of the European Commission, the head of the working group on the negotiations with the UK Michel Barnier and the head of the U.S. Senate Committee on foreign relations James Resem. During both meetings were also talking about the pressure on Russia.
