Spain vs Germany live stream: How to watch Nations League online

Two of international football’s giants go head-to-head when Spain host Germany in the Uefa Nations League on Tuesday at 7:45pm (UK time).

After finishing bottom of their group and without a win during their inaugural Nations League campaign, Germany have enjoyed much more success this time around, sitting atop Group A4 and going unbeaten in their five games so far.

Die Mannschaft most recently picked up three points against Ukraine, with goals from Leroy Sane and Timo Werner (x2) enough to see them past Andriy Shevchenko’s men.

Spain, meanwhile, have failed to win in their last two Nations League matches, following up a 1-0 defeat to Ukraine with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Saturday in which Sergio Ramos missed two penalties.

La Roja are just one point behind Germany but with this being the final group game, Luis Enrique knows his side must grab all three points if they’re to advance to the Nations League finals tournament in October 2021.

Spain & Germany’s previous line-ups:

  • Spain (vs Switzerland): Simon; Roberto, Ramos, P. Torres, Reguilon; Merino, Busquets*; F. Torres, Ruiz, Oyarzabal; Olmo.
  • Germany (vs Ukraine): Neuer; Ginter, Sule, Rudiger, Max; Goretzka, Koch, Gundogan; Sane, Gnabry, Werner.

Sergio Busquets appeared to pick up a knock against Switzerland at the weekend and is a doubt for Spain, who are suffering from the absences of Dani Carvajal and Ansu Fati.

Marcel Halstenberg and Thilo Kehrer both had to withdraw from the squad due to injury, while the likes of Kai Havertz, Julian Draxler and Joshua Kimmich are also sidelined.

Players to watch:

  • Spain: Had Sergio Ramos put even just one of his penalties away against Switzerland, we’d all be having a very different conversation about this match-up against Germany but, as a result, Spain know they simply must win in order to advance. It is a damning indictment on the current Spanish crop that Ramos’ penalty prowess is being relied upon so heavily, but with injuries, a lack of international experience and, being honest, a lack of quality punctuating his forward line, Enrique might well be thinking the veteran Real Madrid defender is his nation’s best chance of qualification.
  • Germany: No such problems for Joachim Low, who has an incredible wealth of attacking talent at his disposal, including Germany’s match-winner against Ukraine, Timo Werner. The 24-year-old made a modest start to life at Chelsea following his move from RB Leipzig but has exploded into life recently, grabbing seven goals and an assist in his last five games for club and country combined. Two of those goals came against Ukraine on Saturday after Leroy Sane had drawn Germany level and Werner will be eyeing up this threadbare Spain defence as he seeks to fire Die Mannschaft to their first-ever Nations League finals.
