FOX Sports insider Mike Coppinger told about the negotiations between the teams of the absolute champion in the heavyweight Alexander Usik and Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin.
According to him, the parties have yet to agree on the upcoming battle.
Alexander Usik and Alexander Povetkin are negotiating to fight on may 18 in Chicago DAZN (a video streaming Service by subscription, – Спорт24). But they are far from deal now

“But there is still plenty of time for the transaction. Mustache is looking to make his debut in superteach”, added, Koppinger.
At the same time, the promoter Matchroom Boxing Briton Eddie Hearn says that a fight between Olympic Champions is almost agreed. Hearn also stated that the fight against the Russians will say a lot about the prospects of Usyk in heavyweight division.
His last fight Usyk came against Tony Bellew (30-3-1, 20 KOS), having sent the rival to a knockout in the eighth round. Thus, the Ukrainian defended all the champion titles in heavy weight.
Povetkin in the autumn of 2018, lost to Anthony Joshua. The fight ended in the 7th round with the victory of Joshua.
