Eddie Hearn, the ironic twist of absolute world champion in the heavyweight Alexander Usik (16-0, 12 KO’s), stated that, most likely, the date of the forthcoming fight of Ukrainians will change.
Sport 24 reported that Oleksandr Usyk has agreed to duel with Cameroonian Carlos Takama (36-5-1, 28 KO’s). The fight was to be held may 18 in Chicago.
Now we play with the idea to hold the fight on may 17, because the Wilder beating on may 18 and to create such a conflict is not beneficial to anyone, because we want the debut of Cirrus coverage as possible.
“The agreement with Carlos Takama not yet decorated. We are in touch with the team of Tacoma. We have reached a principle agreement on the conduct of the battle, but before signing of the contract it has not yet reached,” said Hearn.
On Tuesday, March 19, the world Boxing Association (WBA) has obliged Alexander Usik to conduct the defense of his belt against Russian Denis Lebedev (32-2, 23 KO’s).
His last fight Usyk came against Tony Bellew (30-3-1, 20 KOS), having sent the rival to a knockout in the eighth round. Thus, the Ukrainian defended all the champion titles in heavy weight.
