“The airport “Kiev” works with our heavy aircraft at the limit of their possibilities both from the point of view of their operation, and from the point of view of operational characteristics of the runway. So we decided on the placement of aircraft SkyUp Airlines at the airport “Borispol”, terminal F, which after repairs and some modifications will be opened at the end of March”, – said the press service of the airline.
The transfer of flights to the new airport will happen gradually.
As of January 2019 SkyUp fleet consists of four aircraft of type Boeing 737-800 NG on 189 seats and one Boeing 737-700 NG to 149 seats.
Terminal F in “Boryspil” was commissioned in 2010. Its capacity is 900 passengers per hour for departures and arrivals. The cost of the building amounted to about UAH 400 million. The decision to build the terminal was made in 2008 after it became clear that the terminals A and B can not cope with the growing passenger traffic.
In 2012, on the eve of the European football championship in “Borispol” was opened, larger, terminal D, which gradually transferred all regular flights. At the end of 2013, the airport brought Charter flights airlines, UIA and “Airlines Kharkov” from a terminal F and closed it.
