Activision and Infinity Ward officially announced the next part of Call of Duty. It’s called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and will be released on October 25 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game will tell about the modern conflict in which “second decision can affect the balance of forces in the world”.
“This is a complete reimagining of Modern Warfare sub-series, – said one of the leaders of Infinity Ward Dave Stoul (Dave Stohl). – We create an emotional story inspired by the headlines of contemporary news. The players will meet with a diverse group of characters from international forces and freedom fighters, which will be thrilling in famous European cities and the Middle East.”
A new shooter will be very different from the past. Firstly, it was decided to get rid of the season pass – all future maps will be available to all players without exception. Secondly, the developers plan to add support crossplay to users with different platforms could come together in groups and play together.
Finally, Modern Warfare will boast a brand new engine. The press release States that the technology supports “recent advances in the field of visual engineering”, including photogrammetry, a new system rendering, volumetric lighting, 4K and HDR, ray tracing (on a PC) and more. Also refers to the”advanced animation” and support for Dolby ATMOS.
The PC game, like Black Ops 4, will be distributed via Battle.net. Personal computers promise to offer “fully optimised” version which is created together with Beenox. Well, the owners of PlayStation 4 will continue to get new content before anyone else. Pre-orders of the shooter will open soon, for making an early purchase will give the badge prestige in Black Ops 4.
