In 1994, Audi showed the world that practicality and high performance can be combined in one model. Based on the Audi 80 avant, the RS2 Avant forever earned them a place in automotive history, offering a unique appearance and power, which was ahead of its time, and at the same time could offer comfort for five people. It was exactly 25 years ago, and to celebrate the birthday of the RS2 Avant, Audi decided that it was necessary to shoot some video and edit it for airing. The video is a short film on the history of the model, which is not on sale to the American market.
Footage filmed with the whole retro graphics that will perfectly fit in a regular is the late 80s or early 90s. It is a pleasant journey, in memory, complemented by overly enthusiastic storyteller and such major proposals as “Hi-Fi Stereo with a cassette player as standard”. In this video perfectly reflects all that Audi wanted to give its the world’s first practical supercar, which allows all to understand that this is the result of a very strong partnership with Porsche. Even one of the last few scenes shows the performance metrics and actual changes to the car to achieve this performance from zero to 60 miles per hour. And apparently, “We tried to put it all in a standard sedan. But, alas, no.” The humor is perfect.
On the other hand, if you ever needed a reason to find in the Internet the Audi RS2 Avants with mileage, then this is the best option. And 25 years – is legitimate and the correct age for importation into the United States. Better late than never, right?
