The new structure will work in close cooperation with governments of affected States and territories for “early reconstruction of homes and infrastructure destroyed as a result of forest fires.” Through the Fund assistance will be provided to the victims of the fires, farmers, small businesses and forestry.
The total amount of funds spent on payment of allowances and material aid to victims of forest fires will be at least 87.6 million dollars. More than 25 million dollars of these funds have already been paid to the victims, another $ 100 million will soon be distributed to the local authorities in the States of New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Queensland.
