The Boring Company Ilona Mask (Elon Musk), confirmed the use of Tesla Model S, Model X and Model 3 in their new tunnel Loop. Gradually, several projects for The Boring Company closer to the incarnation, and the concept starts to become clear. Elon Musk acknowledged that the company was founded as a joke, but now she became serious and became involved in some major transportation projects.
The goal always was to build tunnels, but The Boring Company several times changed its strategy when it came to the principles of operation of the transport system inside the tunnels. Now that in the next few months will be completed the first project in Las Vegas, the company released more information about what she calls the “Loop” (Loop) for it.
The idea is to use electric cars with autopilot for fast movement in narrow tunnels. For a project in Las Vegas earlier mentioned plans to use the Tesla, but still not confirmed exactly what (it was assumed that Tesla even creates a special purpose vehicle for this purpose).
Now The Boring Company updated its FAQ section on its web site and published information about the vehicles, which it plans to use:
“Loop is a fully electric high-speed underground system of public transport with zero emissions, in which the passengers are transported by a compatible Autonomous electric vehicle (AEV ) at speeds up to 240 km/h through the main tunnels between the stations. AEV is the Tesla (Model S, X and 3 ), which operate autonomously in the system Loop “.
In addition, the startup has released some new concept images of three different designs of their stations: surface, underground, and underground under the open sky. Given that these conceptual images and links to Model S, X 3 and comes just at a time when the company is working on the completion of the project in Las Vegas probably this system will be applied there. The Boring Company plans to complete the project before the end of the year.
About Tesla have some questions. For example, because these cars will operate completely Autonomous in the tunnels, whether they be the steering wheel? In addition, there are rumors that Tesla makes a 12-seater electric van project the Boring Company, though the automaker did not confirm that.
