After the second round of presidential elections in Ukraine on the Subjects of local TV channels on Zelensky was not as laudatory as before the first round.
The administration of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin urged the Central TV channels “not to praise” the newly elected President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, reported the Russian newspaper “Project”, citing a source in the Kremlin.
According to the interlocutor of the edition, on Russian television, were the stories that were “too laudatory” and the Kremlin drew attention to it.
When TV channels have provided these instructions, the source didn’t elaborate, but by analyzing the latest releases of programs on Russian TV journalists of “Project” found a period when their position is changed.
For example, if 14 April, between the first and second round of presidential elections in Ukraine in the program “Vesti Nedeli” on TV channel “Russia 1” Dmitry Kiselev very positive about Zelensky, on April 21, the day of the second round of presidential elections, he was more restrained in his statements.
A similar change of rhetoric, the journalists noticed in the plots of the program “Time” on “the First channel”. In particular, the author of one of the reports noted that in the rhetoric Zelensky “few specifics”.
Interlocutors of the edition explained that the Kremlin does not know what to expect from the future President of Ukraine, so I’ve decided not to praise and not to scold him. That is why the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov was very cautious in his statements.
“Nobody expects that with the advent Zelensky relations with Ukraine will improve dramatically.” – quoted edition of his interlocutor close to the Kremlin.
