First Deputy Chairman of the KSCA Nicholas Povoroznik urged the people of Kiev and guests of the capital to support the priorities of European development and to show that in Kiev there is no place for discrimination, reports the press service of the administration.
“I urge all residents and guests of the city to demonstrate their tolerance for all people, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, skin color, physical state, beliefs. We are talking primarily about human rights, the right of each of us to be ourselves,” said Poworoznik.
He added that, taking the steady course towards integration into the European community, the Ukrainians took to be fundamental European values, which are based on liberal fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, democratic principles of government, the rule of law, social state.
“Our Constitution guarantees equal rights and freedoms and equality before the law. Everyone has the right to freedom of thought and speech, of religion, free expression of their views or beliefs. Everyone is guaranteed the right to peaceful Assembly, rallies, marches and demonstrations. And we as a government stand on guard of those rights and freedoms, should be an example for all regions. Throwing personal political, religious, social or other beliefs, we should take care about the security of each. Together with the police and the organizers work hard to ensure that the equality March was held secure, as secure Equality March is an opportunity to show that Kyiv a truly European capital,” – said the first Deputy Chairman of the KSCA.
