Representatives of the airline, Ethiopian Airlines, whose plane with 157 people on Board crashed in Ethiopia, told the details of the disaster. About it reports Reuters.

So, the General Director of the company Tewolde Gebre-Mariam said that the Boeing 737 Max 8 commissioned at the end of November 2018 and the aircraft had no malfunctions.

“Shortly after takeoff the captain of the ship filed a distress signal, reported the problem and requested permission to go back to the airport,” he said.

After that, communication with the plane was broken. The airline also said that the captain was a good pilot, who “flew” more than 8 thousand hours.

All the people who were on Board were killed due to the collision with the ground plane. Eyewitnesses claim that the crash started a large fire.

According to the service Flightradar24, after takeoff, the plane was unstable vertical speed.

Also, there are details about the deceased. So, the Italian news Agency ANSA reports that the plane crash crashed the famous Italian archaeologist, cultural adviser of the regional government of Sicily Sebastiano ACE. He was going to Kenya.

  • The crash occurred on Sunday morning, March 10. On Board were 157 – 149 passengers and eight crew members. None of them survived. In the plane were citizens of 33 countries, Ukrainians were not among them.
