Positive economic effect from the work of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) last year reached 4 billion, 20 times the funding of the Committee by the state.
This was stated by the head of AMKU Yury Terentyev, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
According to Terentyev, the AMC organized system of economic cooperation and development, which allows systematic approach to the calculation of economic benefit from the activities of the Department.
“In 2016 we have introduced using the best approaches, the organization for economic cooperation and development (OECD). The approach to calculation of economic benefit from our Ministry and in our current work we use as a measure not to calculate the effectiveness of our past actions and to plan future actions. That is, each business unit must understand where it should apply efforts to achieve maximum effect. Last year this figure reached 4 billion, 20 times the financing of the Antimonopoly Committee”, – said the head of the AMC.
The number of complaints received, the AMC is growing annually by more than 50%, and over the past three years, it reached values of 1500 complaints to 9000 this year.
“My main job when I came to work in the Antimonopoly Committee four years ago, in 2015, was not, shall we say, engage in certain politicized populist activity, and actually create an effective Department that systematically works out all the complex issues in the primary markets, and that can prioritize the strategic objectives. And not to create some artificial temporary one is around, like the popular case and actually become a center of competence for major issues. This work is slightly less popular, in terms of advertising, but it is more systematic, better for society,” – said Terentyev.
Over the past few months, the amount of fines issued, the AMC has exceeded UAH 1 billion. In particular, in April the Antimonopoly Committee has opened high-profile fraud in respect of providers supply army. The Committee has identified the participants of the tenders of the defense Ministry, which simultaneously withdrew the cheapest deals, with the result that the winners were companies with higher price.. the AMCU has fined the company on 22 869,27 million for colluding on tenders.
